The Ni Ti Mountain Wind Project team was pleased to welcome community members to its first public Open House event, held on January 23, 2026, in Fraser Lake, British Columbia.
The event brought together residents, local leaders, neighbouring First Nations, and project representatives for an evening of open dialogue and information sharing. Representatives from the Village of Fraser Lake, the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako, as well as neighbouring First Nations including Saik’uz and Skin Tyee, participated in discussions and engaged with the project team throughout the evening.
The strong attendance, thoughtful questions, and quality of the conversations reflected a high level of interest in the project and the importance of creating opportunities for transparent community engagement.
A key highlight of the evening was the leadership demonstrated by the project’s equity partners, Nadleh Whut’en First Nation and Stellat’en First Nation. Their active participation in discussions and direct engagement with attendees reflected the collaborative foundation of the project and the trusted relationships guiding its development.
The event also marked the public introduction of the project’s new identity: Ni Ti, meaning “Road to the North” in the Dakelh language. Developed through a community contest, the project logo was inspired by ancestral pictographs from the region, helping anchor the project in its cultural and territorial context.
The success of the Open House reflects the ongoing efforts of the Ni Ti Mountain Wind Project team to foster meaningful engagement with communities, local governments, and Indigenous partners through openness, respect, and long-term collaboration.
